5 Ways to Energize your Baby's Room for Better Sleep

As a new parent you will agree that whoever coined the term ‘sleeps like a baby’ clearly didn’t have one because most babies do anything but sleep peacefully! However, with these tips, you can soothe, nourish and strengthen the energy in your baby’s room by channeling warmth, love, and good dreams.

Keep it low or no tech

A baby monitor is fine, but other everyday appliances such as TVs, computers, tablets and cellphones, should be kept away from the nursery as they can cause an overflow of electromagnetic radiation. Constant exposure to EM radiation is known to cause fatigue, increase stress and weaken the immune system. Take it a step further by turning off the Wi-Fi before bed. This reduces radio waves that can impact a tiny body and mind that's trying to rest.

If going gadget free is not possible, try placing black tourmaline stones and orogone pyramids in the room as they are known to negate the effects of EM radiation.

Place your crib in the right spot

Using principles of Feng Shui to boost positive energy in your little one's room, place the crib or cot in a t-shape with the head against a solid wall. This provides a mountain of 'support' and 'security.' It places your child where they can see the room door, but are not directly in line it. A crib that is diagonally positioned from the door will deflate negative energy. If it’s in line with the door, there will be too much energy flowing toward the crib. Avoid placing the crib in the middle of the room with no support, or under a window.

These simple practices will allow positive energy to surround your child and promote better, more restful sleep for your child.

Pleasant aromas

A gentle, soothing scent like lavender oil can be very relaxing for your baby and help them sleep better. Rub a few drops on their pillow or use it in a diffuser in the room. Strong scents, on the other hand, could overwhelm your baby’s delicate nose or lungs so it’s best to avoid them. It is also important to keep your baby’s bed linen clean because musty sheets and blankets lead to unpleasant aromas that can create negative vibes in your nursery.

Himalayan Salt Lamps

Himalayan salt lamps filter dust, smoke, pollen and other potential allergens from the air, helping to improve the air quality and relieve allergy symptoms so your baby can get a better night’s sleep. These lamps also release negative ions that increase serotonin levels, boost relaxation and improve sleep quality. It’s not a bad idea to keep one of these in your room as well!

Keep the room clean and airy

It is essential to have a sense of movement and flow through your baby’s room as stagnant air can transform into negative energy. Make sure the room is well lit and aired out as often as possible, hang mobiles close to a window to move gently in the breeze or keep soft music playing in the room to create good, soft energy and movement. Remember to keep the room clean at all times, as dust and dirt are carriers of disease and also bad vibes.

Whether you choose to follow any or all of these tips or not, the most important thing is for your baby to be comfortable and happy in their room. Your nursery should be a place of rest and relaxation, not stress and anxiety. Do what feels best for you and your baby to enjoy a good night’s sleep.
